Big Buck Lodge

We had an amazing stay at Big Buck Lodge while celebrating a friend’s 50th birthday! Traveling with a group of 16 can be tricky, but this house was perfect—every couple had their own bedroom and bathroom, which made a huge difference in comfort and privacy. One of our favorite features was the kitchen setup. Having two of all the major appliances was a game changer, especially the extra fridge—we definitely needed one just for beverages (cheers to the birthday boy!). The home was well-equipped for a large group and made hosting meals and hanging out easy and enjoyable. We also loved the game room and all the entertainment options—it kept everyone laughing and having fun all weekend. The location is ideal, with easy access to both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, so there was plenty to do nearby. Communication with the hosts was excellent from start to finish. The house was easy to find, and check-in was smooth and hassle-free. One unforgettable moment: we actually had a bear get in one of our cars in the early morning hours! It was unbelievable that it didn't destroy anything (just a little dirty!) - and a good reminder to remove all food and trash from your car when you arrive, and keep your car and the house doors locked at all times for safety. The only minor issue was that a few of the dining chairs could use a little TLC, but we shared that feedback with the owners and it didn’t take away from our experience at all. Overall, we had a fantastic weekend and would absolutely recommend booking this cabin. We’d happily stay at Big Buck Lodge again or with any Buckhead Rentals property!

Spent a week at Thanksgiving here with my large family, and had a wonderful time building memories. I live near Indianapolis (7 hrs North) and most of my family lives in Central Mississippi (7 hours South), so it was the perfect central location for meeting up! The house is very adequately equipped with 8 spacious bedrooms/8 bathrooms, 2 hot tubs, 3 decks, very roomy common areas (living room + game room), and a true double kitchen with two of all appliances. We had over 20 adults and kids in the house, and never felt like we were stumbling over one another. The BONUS was the visits at the house from the local black bears! These beautiful creatures visited daily, sometimes more than once. We heeded all of the warnings about keeping car doors locked, keeping the house doors/windows closed & locked, keeping the outdoor trash bins locked, not leaving food or wrappers in vehicles or on decks, keeping our distance, and were able to safely watch them. We will definitely be visiting again!
